NQF Level 4 Technical Support Learnership Induction
On 9 February 2017, Xtensive ICT Academy hosted an induction ceremony 20 unemployed Youth from the Gauteng Department of Social Development. The learners were inducted into a one year Learnership in Information Technology on NQF Level 4: Technical Support.
Xtensive ICT Academy presented the induction in partnership with the Gauteng Department of Social Development at His Majesty’s Building, Johannesburg.
The purpose of the induction was to introduce all stakeholders including the department of Social Development, Mentors and host employers, learners, the MICT SETA and the training provider Xtensive ICT Academy.
The roles of the various stakeholders were outlined and the project structure and course outline was presented. Speakers on the day included a welcome by the Gauteng Department of Social Development, Mrs De Oliveira and a programme overview Xtensive Operations Manager Mr. Mngoma.
The formal induction presentation was conducted by Mrs Engelbrecht from Xtensive who outlined the project structure and provided guidelines for the learners in terms of conduct, attendance and programme objectives.

The structure of the learning programme was presented and learner will spend 30% of the learnership duration learning theory and 70% of the programme duration learning practical skills in the workplace.
This programme leads to a qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework. This programme is quality assured by the MICT SETA ETQA and will culminate in a National Certificate on NQF Level 4, in Information Technology.
The learners were heartily welcomed and encouraged to strive to excel in this outcomes based programme which contains a practical workplace component where learners will be placed at various units within the Department of Social Development including the Help Desk at Head Office in Johannesburg.
